Dynamics 365 Finance Users: Fixing your “Default Quantity for Lines” field

Were you one of the many people beating their heads against the wall trying to post an invoice in the Landed Cost module to move items into the in-transit warehouse? The problem often went like this: In the post invoice window, when a user would select the Ordered Quantity, the system would switch the option back to Product Receipt Quantity. Arbela engineer Jeff Schreffler felt your pain and did something about it.

The cause was a recently introduced feature - Align Combo Box User Interactions with Lookup Controls. When enabled (see Figure 1), this feature didn’t work as intended or desired. This also created issues for personalizing workspaces. You could not select a list or link function when adding to a workspace. Tile was the only option you could select. If you selected List, the system would change it to Tile. If you selected Link, the system would change it to Tile.

While Microsoft will be releasing a fix for the issue, you can implement an immediate workaround by disabling the “Align Combo Box User Interactions with Lookup Controls” feature. Cheers to Jeff for identifying the issue!
