Power Apps

Build and deploy custom apps to meet your unique business needs

Contrary to a popular saying, sometimes there isn’t an app for that. Do you have specific business challenges that existing applications can’t seem to solve? Microsoft Power Apps provides you with a low-code solution to build and share custom apps.

ArganoArbela helps you get started building your own applications in more ways than one. We offer an "App in a Day" workshop that can have you and your team building apps immediately. We can also do the heavy lifting for you, and build custom and/or more complex apps that integrate across your business solutions - Microsoft, third-party data sources, and more.

What a difference the right app makes for a business, as the Microsoft Power Apps data shows in the image to the right.

Power Apps: Canvas Apps, Model-Driven Apps, Portals, and the Dataverse

Canvas and Model-Driven Apps

Two paths to similar outcomes - enabling you to automate workflows and create forms, dashboards, and charts and easily incorporate business rules and security parameters. Canvas Apps starts with a blank canvas and builds an app based on hundreds of data sources, creating the UI as you build. Model-Driven Apps begins with a data source and you build from there, with the automatically generated UI as an output. Both methods enable you to create responsive applications that run on any device, can be customized based on user roles, tasks, recurring business scenarios, and more.

Portals

For websites and web-based services, Power Apps Portals has a wide array of capabilities you can use to create interfaces and experiences unique to your strategic business needs. Previously known as Dynamics 365 Portals and most often used as an add-on to Dynamics customer engagement solutions (Dynamics 365 Sales, Dynamics 365 Marketing, etc.), Portals is now available as a standalone solution via Power Platform and even more flexible.

Dataverse

Are you using Dynamics? Power BI? Then you are using Dataverse. This is where all your data lives as it’s the data platform on which Dynamics and Power Platform solutions are built. Using Microsoft Dataverse (previously called Common Data Service), you can easily and fluidly store, organize, and share your data within tables (both out-of-the-box or custom). It’s part of Power Platform in that every other tool - Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Power Virtual Agent - draws data to and from the Dataverse.

Creating a Power Apps Center of Excellence

A Center of Excellence (CoE) drives innovation, improvement, and brings together like-minded people with similar business goals to share knowledge and success, while at the same time providing standards, consistency, and governance to the organization.

The ArganoArbela Power Platform CoE is designed to help you get started with developing a strategy for adopting and supporting Microsoft Power Platform, with a focus on Power Apps and Power Automate. A CoE requires more than tools alone; the CoE also requires people, communication, and defined requirements and processes. The Power Apps toolsets are just a means to get to the end goal, but the CoE itself must be thoughtfully designed by each organization based on their needs and preferences.
